Egypt’s power plants burned a record 4.670bn cfd of natural gas on 4 and 5 August, the country’s oil ministry says. The previous record monthly figure of 4.475bn cfd was set in August 2018.

Last week’s record gas burn accounted for 67% of the country’s overall gas consumption the ministry adds, implying overall consumption of 6.97bn cfd. This is also substantially higher than the record average monthly consumption figure of 6.503bn cfd also set in August 2018. (CONTINUED - 191 WORDS)
