Private Saudi energy provider Acwa Power has secured a further $27.2mn in funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) for the 200MW solar PV plant it is developing at Kom Ombo in southern Egypt. The project, which is slated to cost $155.4mn, last year received $54mn in funding from the London based European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (MEES, 4 September 2020).

Completion was originally due in Q3 this year, but has been pushed back to 2022. The $127.5mn EPC contract went to Mumbai-based firm Sterling & Wilson Solar. (CONTINUED - 144 WORDS)
