Iran oil minister Bijan Zanganeh this week outlined the ministry’s key priorities for new Iranian year (from 20 March), aiming to bring gas production capacity to 1bn m³/d (35.3bn cfd), spud a first well at South Pars Phase-11, and start-up the planned 1mn b/d oil export terminal at Jask.

If all this is achieved then Iran’s hydrocarbons sector will have had a highly successful 12-months considering that it has been operating under stringent US sanctions since 2018. But the likelihood is that this is little more than wishful thinking. (CONTINUED - 796 WORDS)
