Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), says that it this week led its first business mission to Saudi Arabia within the framework of the Russia-Saudi Economic Council. Kirill Dmitriev, RDIF’s CEO says “projects with potential joint investment of more than $10bn in total were discussed during the workshops.” He adds that “we intend to continue the discussion during a reciprocal visit of representatives of Saudi businesses to Moscow, which is expected in the spring. We will discuss projects in high technology, medicine, construction and agriculture.” RDIF last year signed deals with a number of Saudi firms aimed at bringing Saudi investment into Russia (MEES, 18 October 2019).
