Jordan’s Constitutional Court has ruled that parliament lacks the authority to annul the controversial deal between state power company Nepco and Noble Energy to import 45bcm of Israeli gas over 15 years.
The court ruling stipulated that even if a company (in this case, Nepco) is fully owned by the government, it is not considered an official public institution and therefore is not subject to parliamentary oversight. (CONTINUED - 161 WORDS)
