China imported a bumper 1.503mn b/d of crude from Russia in May versus an eight-month low of 1.108mn b/d from Saudi Arabia. This was enough to boost Russia, top supplier on an annual basis since 2016, ahead of Saudi Arabia for the first five months of 2019 – with 1.483mn b/d versus 1.455mn b/d.
