*The US exported a record 2.989mn b/d of crude in February, a whopping 280,000 b/d higher than November 2018’s previous record of 2.609mn b/d, data from the US government’s Census Bureau shows. A record 2.455mn b/d was seaborne exports (see chart) with a record 1.492mn b/d reaching Asia – a reversal from January when for the first time Europe took more (MEES, 29 March).

*Korea was the top Asian destination, with 492,000 b/d, the second highest on record behind December 2018’s 558,000 b/d. Taiwan and Thailand were number two and three, taking record volumes of 315,000 b/d and 206,000 b/d respectively. The US sent 163,000 b/d to India and 145,000 b/d to China, the highest volume in seven months but a far cry from the 1H 2018 average of 377,000 b/d. (CONTINUED - 180 WORDS)
