Aramco has delivered a 2mn barrel commissioning cargo of Arab Medium crude to the newly-built 400,000 b/d capacity Jazan refinery in South Arabia’s remote southwest. Data intelligence firm Kpler says the VLCC Alex moored at the refinery’s single point mooring buoy on 30 October and is expected to discharge the cargo for Aramco to begin test runs. The refinery is being integrated with a 4GW integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plant, to which it will supply residual fuel oil along with oxygen and nitrogen from an air separation unit for burning in the IGCC.
