The Daehan Wind Power Company, a joint venture of Korea’s Kospo and Daelim, awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract this week to Denmark’s Vestas for a 49.5MW wind farm to be built 180km southwest of Amman in Tafila governorate.
Vestas says that the Daehan wind farm EPC involves the supply, transport, installation and commissioning of 15 wind turbines in addition to a 20-year service agreement. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the 3Q 2019, with start-up anticipated in the 1Q 2020.
When the Daehan partners signed the preliminary agreement to develop the project in 2016, they aimed to begin construction in 2017 and to begin delivering electricity from the farm in 2019. (CONTINUED - 269 WORDS)
