US contractor McDermott announced in its Q3 results on 30 October that the firm has begun FEED work for Abu Dhabi’s offshore Belbazem field at its Jebel Ali facilities in neighboring Dubai. Belbazem is operated by Al-Yasat, a 60:40 JV between state firm Adnoc and China’s CNPC.
The firm first began producing this year with the start-up of the offshore Bu Haseer field in March and plans to increase output from 8,000 b/d to 16,000 b/d by 2020 (MEES, 13 July). First oil from Belbazem is slated for 2023 and will be exported from Zirku Island. (CONTINUED - 93 WORDS)
