US conglomerate General Electric will supply the steam turbines and generators for four power islands to be installed by the Atomenergomash subsidiary of Russian state nuclear firm Rosatom in four 1.2GW nuclear reactors to be built near Dabaa, 170km west of Alexandria on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.

Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity signed an agreement with Rosatom late last year to proceed with work on the four reactors, the first of which is due online in 2026 and all four are due to be fully operational in 2029. (CONTINUED - 161 WORDS)
