The Sadara plant is expected to start up its first unit this year, with all units due to be operational in 2016.
“Sadara will establish a foundation that we will leverage to compete in the Asian and Middle Eastern markets for the next many decades,” Dow’s chief financial officer Howard Ungerleider said in a 29 January earnings conference call. “Overall construction is approximately 85% complete, with production for first product assets in the polyurethane value chain approximately 95% complete.”
