This week saw the start of the next phase of the Iran nuclear deal as the European Union, US and Iran all began making the necessary arrangements and preparations to implement their respective commitments under the landmark nuclear deal – the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – signed in mid-July.

The US approved conditional sanctions waivers for Iran, to take effect once Tehran has curbed its nuclear program as per the terms of the JCPOA, while in Brussels the EU published legal acts opening the way for the bloc to lift sanctions, again on the condition Iran delivers on its commitments.
