Total has reorganized its MENA upstream operations under one umbrella, creating a new Middle East North Africa Division to be headed by Stephane Michel, appointed Total’s Middle East head in January this year. The region accounts for 26.4% of the group’s global oil and gas production. The new entity brings it in line with its peers in terms of management structure, Total sources say.

“This transfer enables the integrated management of our E&P operations in two highly strategic regions for Total – the Middle East and North Africa which both have strong cultural ties as well as close economic relationships, notably in the oil and gas sector,” Mr Michel says.
