Kuwait’s supergiant 1.6mn b/d Burgan field is set to receive a boost from BP.
BP has entered into a technical service agreement (TSA) with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to “look at the top strata of the Burgan field,” with work set to begin on 1 December, BP CEO Bob Dudley said at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) this week.
Mr Dudley says that an agreement was signed between the two parties in September and that plans are moving ahead: “In Kuwait, we are working on a development program to help with technical studies on the giant Burgan field.”
