Egypt has no interest in importing natural gas from Israel and would rather focus on plans to import LNG, the chairman of the state-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) Tahir ‘Abd al-Rahim said on 23 October.

Speaking to Reuters, the EGAS official was responding to an earlier statement by the Israeli Minister of Energy and Water Resources Silvan Shalom, that Israel could supply Egypt with gas via the existing Arab Gas Pipeline (AGP), which in the past used to supply Egyptian gas to Israel.
