Saudi Aramco has selected engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors for its 400,000 b/d refinery project to be built in the Kingdom’s underdeveloped south west Jazan province. Saudi Aramco said on 21 October that the contractors selected include: Petrofac Saudi Arabia, Hyundai Arabia Company; South Korea’s Hanwha Engineering and Construction Corporation and SK Engineering and Construction Company; Japan’s JGC Corporation and Hitachi Plant Technologies; and Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas.

The major packages and contracts will be signed next month at the project site in Jazan Economic City. Bidding had closed in mid-September for the Jazan EPC contracts, and had attracted around 20 international firms (MEES, 28 September). (CONTINUED - 274 WORDS)
