Norwegian independent DNO and joint venture partner Genel Energy, the two key oil producers in the Kurdish region, have delivered first gas from the Summail field to the Duhok Power Station, fulfilling the terms of a September 2013 take-or-pay gas sales agreement with the KRG.

The Summail gas field in the Duhok license area is operated by DNO in partnership with Genel Energy. Long term deliveries are expected to rise from an initial volume of 55mn cfd to 120mn cfd within the next few months and eventually to around 200mn cfd, the KRG’s Ministry of Natural Resources says. The full conversion to gas by 2015 will result in monthly savings of $100mn, it says. (CONTINUED - 358 WORDS)
