OPEC Holds Demand Growth Forecast Steady

OPEC has kept its forecast for world oil demandgrowth unchanged at 900,000 b/d in 2012. The organization’s latest Monthly Oil Market Report, published on 11 September, says: “Global economic turbulence has not slowed oil consumption seasonality from its summer trend. World oil demand rose in July, leading to growth of 1.1mn b/d in the third quarter year-on-year... In 2013, world oil demand is forecast to grow at a slightly lower 800,000 b/d compared to the previous year.”
