IEA Raises Demand Projections
Published on Wednesday, 12 Sep 11:53 am
The International Energy Agency has raised its demand projections for this year and next. In the latest monthly Oil Market Report, published on 12 September, the agency says: “Demand projections for 2012 and 2013 have been raised by 100,000 b/d on data revisions for 2011, to 89.8mn b/d and 90.6mn b/d, respectively, though demand growth forecasts are little changed at around 800,000 b/d for both years. Demand grew by 1.2mn b/d in 2Q12, buoyed by Japanese utility burn to replace idled nuclear generators.”
