US Nears Debt Relief Deal With Egypt

The US government is close to a deal with Egypt’s new government for $1bn in debt relief, according to a 3 September Reuters report. Citing a senior US official, the report said that US diplomats and negotiators for Egypt’s new Islamist president Muhammad Mursi were working to finalize an agreement.
