Iraq Oil Output Tops 3Mn B/D
Published on Thursday, 30 Aug 15:31 pm
Iraq produced 3.051mn b/d of crude oil in July, surpassing 3 million b/d for the first time since the months before the 1990 invasion of Kuwait, Platts Oilgram News reported on 30 August. Citing Ministry of Oil data, the report said that Iraq’s total oil output in July rose by 100,000 b/d from 2.951mn b/d in June. The increase was said to reflect substantially higher output from Iraq’s southern oil fields, which more than offset the recent loss of oil exports from the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, where exports had been suspended in a dispute with Baghdad over oil payments.
