EIA: US Crude Imports Rise In May To 8.9mn B/D

US crude imports climbed 318,000 b/d to 8.9mn b/d in May, led by a 280,000 b/d jump in Iraqi crude imports to 675,000 b/d, according to data released by the EIA on Monday. Total US crude imports were at their highest since October 2011, when they averaged 9.029mn b/d. Canada remained the largest supplier of foreign crude oil to the US in May at 2.378mn b/d. Saudi Arabia was second at 1.465mn b/d, and Mexico third at 956,000 b/d, while Venezuela was fourth at 821,000 b/d in May.
