Cypriot President Demetris Christofias confirmed at the Levant Energy Forum in Nicosia on 26 June that Cyprus has decided to build an LNG export facility on the island, and that foreign private sector investors will be invited to participate. He also said that Cyprus would establish a state hydrocarbon company as well as a national hydrocarbon fund to benefit future generations of Cypriots.
