Kuwait Cabinet Resigns

Kuwait’s cabinet submitted its resignation to the Amir, Shaikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, on 25 June. This move is viewed as a potential first step towards the appointment by the Amir of a prime minister to form a new government. This followed the 20 June ruling by Kuwait’s constitutional court that the February general election was illegal, and its reinstatement of the previous pro-government parliament.
