Bahraini PM For Gulf Union, Opposition Wants Referendum

Bahrain’s PM has backed Saudi Arabia’s plan for the creation of a Gulf Union, but the nation’s Shiite Opposition is demanding the proposal to be put to a referendum, reports the AFP. “The option of a GCC union has become urgent,” Bahraini PM sheikh Khalifa bin Salman was quoted as saying in the Saudi daily al-Riyadh.
