Saudi Arabia Targets 17GW Of Nuclear By 2032
Published on Wednesday, 09 May 11:28 am
Saudi Arabia should build 17 Gigawatts (GW) of nuclear power plant capacity by 2032 plus 4 Gigawatts of geothermal and waste-to-energy capacity, enough to meet about a sixth of its expected peak demand, a senior official said Tuesday, reports Reuters, adding that peak-load power demand was expected to reach 121 GW in 20 years’ time, of which 60.5 GW would still be met by hydrocarbon-fuelled power plants.
