Iraqi Lawmakers Threaten Vote Of Confidence Against Government
Published on Monday, 07 May 11:07 am
Four of the most senior political leaders in Iraq’s fragile coalition have threatened to bring a vote of no confidence in the government “unless autocratic decision-making stops.” The four senior lawmakers – Speaker of the House Usama al-Nijaifi, President of the KRG Masoud Barazani, Head of al-Iraqiya Block (Ayad 'Allawi), and Muqtada al-Sadr (the Shi'i leader with around 40 seats in parliament and a member of the pro-Maliki alliance), sent a letter to Maliki to this effect, reports Reuters.
