Venezuela’s production figures show that it has increased oil output in the Orinoco heavy crude belt by 90,000 b/d between January and March, says Rafael Ramirez, Minister of Petroleum. He added that this brings total production from the region to 1.121mn b/d, and that plans are to increase production from the region to 1.635mn b/d by end 2012.
