Munif Nominated By Saudi Arabia For OPEC Secretary General

According to Reuters, Saudi Arabia has nominated Dr. Majid al-Munif for the post of OPEC’s Secretary General, a move that is expected to ignite a quarrel with Iran.
Dr Munif is currently Saudi Arabia’s OPEC Governor. The current Secretary General, 'Abd Allah al-Badri, will be completing his second three-year term at end-2012. He cannot be nominated again for the post.
