KMG Reshuffle Continues After Kazakh Parliamentary Elections

Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev last week continued his reshuffle of the management of state firm KazMunaiGaz (KMG), as snap parliamentary elections which began on 15 January reflected disquiet over the government’s handling of protests by striking oil workers in the town of Zanaozhen, where 16 people were killed in mid-December (MEES, 16 January).
