An announcement by the Republic of Cyprus earlier this month that Noble Energy will begin to drill its first well offshore Cyprus in October has caused Turkey to once again express its objection to Nicosia’s efforts to explore its offshore territory, and to renew threats against EU member Cyprus if it should proceed with its exploration program.
