South Sudan Warns Khartoum Not to Start “Economic Wars”

South Sudan said on 24 July that Khartoum was demanding a pipeline usage transit fee of $22.8/B – about 20% of its oil exports’ value. Juba is also concerned that the North will refuse to take back Sudanese bank notes – both countries are switching to new currencies – and may flood the South with old bills.
