Bahrain’s expected heavy oil production will not affect significantly its overall crude blend’s API. Bahrain’s Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs 'Abd al-Husain 'Ali Mirza told MEES: “Tatweer Petroleum expects production from the heavy reservoirs to gradually increase to 5,000 b/d over the next five years compared to the total field production of approximately 77,000 b/d by 2015.”
