Bashir Threatens To Block Pipeline If South Does Not Share Oil Revenues

Sudan is prepared to shut the pipelines carrying the landlocked South’s oil, if the two sides fail to reach a deal on oil ahead of the South’s secession next month, Sudanese President 'Umar al-Bashir said on 21 June. He suggested either the South continues to transfer over half of its oil revenues to the North, or alternatively pays for using the oil infrastructure owned and located in the North.
