Noble Energy on 16 May announced that it had stopped drilling its Leviathan-2 appraisal well offshore Israel because the location and wellbore had proved unsuitable for drilling. Noble said that during the drilling process it had identified water flowing to the sea floor from the wellbore and that the source was a water sand that flowed behind the surface casing.
