South Sudan Applies For IMF Membership

The authorities of South Sudan have applied for membership of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after South Sudan becomes an independent country as expected on 9 July. In a 20 April statement the IMF said: “Sudan will remain a member of the IMF and retain all its quota in the fund as well as all its assets in, and liabilities to, the IMF.
