Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on 2 February that Tehran was prepared to send uranium abroad for enrichment. Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh told Reuters on 4 February: “What my president said in fact shows that Iran has the political will to facilitate … cooperation rather than confrontation, and now it is up to the others to use this opportunity.” Iran’s uranium enrichment is a key concern for the international community, which doubts that Iran’s nuclear program is solely for power gen-eration.
