Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) announced…

Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) announced on 7 February that it planned to produce 20% enriched uranium at its Natanz uranium processing site. IRNA news agency reported that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had given the go-ahead for upgrading beyond the current level of 4-5%. Mr Ahmadinejad had said that Iran was currently negotiating with the international community for a nuclear fuel swaps deals, and that the IAEO would proceed with its own push to the 20% level if talks on fuel swaps fail.
